Swim Safety In-Person
Parents and caregivers are invited to join the City of Irvine, in partnership with the Orange County Fire Authority and AAP-Orange County pediatricians, to learn how to keep young children safe in and around water. This free workshop is part of the City's Floatie Exchange Program and will explain why a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket is a safer choice than inflatable floaties. Families will learn simple, lifesaving strategies to help prevent drowning and protect children at pools, beaches, lakes, and other bodies of water. Children who attend with a parent or caregiver will also have the opportunity to be fitted with a properly sized life jacket by the City of Irvine Aquatics Division.
